Entrust Targets Web Mashups With Link to SafeMashups

Dallas-based Entrust reported Thursday that the firm is targeting Web "mashups" and related protocols with a new product. According to Entrust, it has linked with firm SafeMashups to allow its SSL digital certificates to be used within SafeMashups MashSSL Web Toolkit, a product which is used to protect web data and protocols. SafeMashups, based in San Antonio, is developing a protocol which allows Web applications to securely identify each other even when running on a untrusted browser. SafeMashups is being incubated at the Institute for Cyber Security at The University of Texas at San Antonio, and is addressing security for emerging standards such as cross domain XHR and OAuth.
