End Of An Era At HomeAway, As Sharples Steps Down As CEO

Austin-based HomeAway is facing an end of an era, as co-founder and longtime CEO Brian Sharples is stepping down from his day to day role at the company, the company said earlier this week. According to Expedia--the new owner off HomeAway--Sharples will become Chairman of the company through January of 2017. HomeAway will hand over control of HomeAway to new president JOhn Kim. Kim has been at HomeAway since only earlier this year, when he joined as Chief E-Commerce Officer; Kim had previously been Chief Product Officer for Expedia. HomeAway was acquired for $3.9 billion back in November of 2015.
