EDS Partners with Microsoft to Update Airline Product Portfolio

IT consulting firm EDS revealed Tuesday that it has signed an eight-year agreement with software giant Microsoft Corp. to modernize its airline service-oriented architecture products. The financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. Specifically, EDS said it will use Microsoft tools, software and resources to improve its airline reservations, flight operations and service-oriented architecture products. Additionally, EDS said Microsoft will supply architecture specialists, 24-hour support, a revised software-licensing model, further product investment and access to new customer channel management tools. EDS noted that joint sales and marketing activities will begin immediately, with the first co-developed products going live this summer. EDS is headquartered in Plano, Texas.
