EDS Becomes HP Enterprise Services
Plano-based EDS is no more, as of Wednesday, as owner HP said it is dropping the EDS moniker, and instead calling what was EDS HP Enterprise Services. HP said that the name change was a "major step" in its integration of EDS into HP. EDS was acquired by HP in August of 2008, in a deal worth $13.8 billion. HP said that, along with the renaming of EDS, it has renamed its Technology Solutions Group to HP Enterprise Business. That group includes both the enterprise services group, as well as servers, storage, software, networking, and technology services.
