DFJ Mercury Promotes Lebovitz, Snags Associate From In-Q-Tel

Houston-based venture capital firm DFJ Mercury said Tuesday that it has promoted Russ Lebovitz to Venture Partner, and hired Dan Janiak as an Associate. According to DFJ Mercury, both will help the firm in developing and originating science-based, investment themes and startup opportunities. Lebovitz was previously a Venture Advisor at the fund, and is CEO of Marval Biosciences and founder of Imagnx. He also has served at C-Sixty, Tego Biosciences, Royal Dutch Shell, Nextel, Cingular Wireless, Johnson & Johnson, Compaq Computer, and JP Morgan Chase, among other roles. Janiak joins from the CIA's venture capital arm, In-Q-Tel, where he was an Associate in the Physical and Biological Technologies practice.
