Dell Ups Sustainability Efforts With Packaging, Plastics

Round Rock-based computer maker Dell is ramping up its sustainability efforts, the company said this morning, by switching to new, carbon-negative packaging material, and the use of recycled plastic for its PCs. According to Dell, it has begun using AirCarbon carbon-negative packaging from Newlight Technologies--packaging that absorbs more CO2 in manufacturing than it gives off into the atmosphere. Additionally, Dell said it will be adopting recycled plastics from recycled electronics in its manufacturer of its PCs, via a relationship with design manufacturer Wistron GreenTech.
