Dell Teams with Chinese Electronics Retailer

Computer manufacturer and direct distributor Dell Inc. revealed Monday that it has formed a partnership with China's largest consumer electronics retailer, GOME, to distribute its products throughout China. Dell said GOME will begin selling Dell systems in about 50 major metropolitan GOME stores during October. Dell employees will be present in GOME stores to answer questions and to assist customers with purchases, the Round Rock, Texas-based company said. Dell added that it plans to expand its presence in China through GOME during the first half of 2008. In addition to the GOME partnership, Dell recently announced retail distribution agreements with Wal-Mart, Japan’s Bic Camera Inc. and the United Kingdom’s Carphone Warehouse.
