Dell Sees Further Softening
Round Rock-based computer manufacturer Dell said this morning that it is seeing softening in global information technology demand. According to a statement released by Dell today, the firm said it expects to incur costs and further reduce headcount as it looks to realign its business. The firm said it is working aggressively on cost initiatives to benefit its P&L over time. No details on any planned layoffs were given, which follow aggressive cost cutting measures and a significant cut in the firm's staffing over the past three quarters. Dell said that the slowdown in IT demand, which has been present in the US, has extended into Western Europe and several countries in Asia.
