Dell Revenues Hit $15.5B, Profits Up

Round Rock-based Dell announced its second quarter results Thursday afternoon, saying that the firm had net income of $545 million on revenues of $15.5 billion, as demand rose from its commercial customers. According to Dell, the revenues were up 22 percent increase from a year ago. Strong areas for the firm were services revenue, which the firm said were up 57 percent, as well as server and networking equipment, where revenues increased 35 percent due to demand for blade servers. Among other revelations in the results, Dell benefited from large enterprise customers, with revenues up to $4.5 billion, up 38 percent. Consumer revenues were flat for the firm, where the firm said it had an operating income loss of $21M.
