Dallas Investors Back BlueCava

Three, Dallas-based investors--S3 Ventures, Mark Cuban, and Tim Headington--have invested in a maker of device identification software, BlueCava, that firm announced Tuesday. BlueCava said that it has raised $9.5M in a funding round, which was led by S3 Ventures, and which also included prior investors Mark Cuban and Tim Headington. BlueCava develops software which tracks the fingerprint of computers and other devices, and uses that unique ID to both track users for online advertising purposes, and also to prevent e-commerce fraud. The firm's technology gets over limitations of browser-based tracking of users. S3's Brian R. Smith joins BlueCava's board with the funding round. BlueCava is based in California. More information »
