CyrusOne Buys More Data Center Land Near Houston

Dallas-based datacenter operator CyrusOne has big plans for expansion at its campus in Houston, saying today that it has added a new, 32-acre parcel of land at its Houston West campus. The firm said the buy expands its campus to more than 45 acres. Financial details of the buy were not announced. CyrusOne said it is looking to build the largest, multi-tenant "digital energy campus" for the oil and gas industry in the United States. CyrusOne already has major operations at the center in oil and gas, including a high performance computing (HPC) cluster for oil and gas research, as well as data center services provided to what it says is "nearly all" of the super-major and major oil and gas firms in the world.
