Dallas-based CREDANT Technologies, a publisher of data protection software, reported Tuesday that it has hired Greg M. Clock as vice president of strategic alliances and worldwide channels. CREDANT said Clock will oversee the growth of the company's channel offerings, particularly with regard to programs for resellers and value-added resellers. CREDANT described Clock as a 15-year veteran of the sales and marketing field. Most recently, CREDANT noted, Clock was director of global alliances for EMC, where he accumulated and managed $165 million in strategic relationships. Prior to EMC, he served as vice president of Legato's professional consulting group and was vice president and general manager of a 13-state region at Amdahl. CREDANT Technologies is a privately funded company backed by Austin Ventures, Menlo Ventures, Crescendo Ventures, Intel Capital and Cisco Systems.
