Convey Targets Financial Analytics, In HPC Partnerships
Richardson-based Convey Computer, a developer of processors for high speed computing, said today that it has created a new hardware product specifically targeted at the financial analytics and equity trading market, and separately, inked deals with two firms in the high performance computing (HPC) market. Convey said that it has created a "Financial Analytics Personality" for its Convey HC-1, which specifically targets the needs of quantitative analysts and the financial services market, for high performance computing. Convey said it has hard-wired financial functions into its HC-1 system hardware, which is "many times more efficient" than commodity hardware. Separately, the firm said that it has partnered with Mitrionics and Platform Computing, two providers of high-performance-computing software. Mitrionics is a developer of FPGA development software; and Platform Computing develops HPC management software.
