Commerciant Acquired By San Francisco Firm

Houston-based Commerciant, a provider of mobile payment processing hardware and related technology, has been acquired. According to San Francisco-based BankServ, it has acuqired the assets of Commerciant, including patents in the mobile payments industry. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Commerciant had previously received funding from Accent Texas Fund, Advantage Capital Texas and Aegis Texas Venture Fund.
