Austin-based Broomly has raised $1.3M in a seed funding round, for what it calls an "Uber for home services". Broomly said the seed funding came from angels, including Hugh Forrest (Director of SXSW Interactive), Adam Zeplain (Branch Basics), Dan Graham and Blake Borgeson (BuildASign), Marc Winkelman (Calendar Holdings), Andy Bursetn (CyrusOne), Joe Ross (CSIdentity), Curis Howard (Lexus), Alex Andrawes (PersonalWine.com), Russel Hinds (RSH Ventures), Mark Hawkins (Salesforce), and Herb Simon (Simon Property Group, Indiana Pacers). Broomly said it will use the funding to extend its business into pest control, plumbing, HVAC, laundry, and handyman services, in additional cities nationwide. Broomly was founded by Jerry Sun, Matt Hawkins and Joe Shiraz.
