BMC Wins Gas and Power Provider

Houston-based business service management applications maker BMC Software revealed Wednesday that it has signed a U.K.-based provider of gas and power services as a customer. The financial impact of the customer win was not reported. BMC identified its new client as EDF Energy of London, which delivers gas and electricity to more than 5.5 million U.K. homes and businesses. BMC noted that the utility will use BMC's CONTROL-M information technology management application to handle reporting, disaster recovery and server maintenance. EDF Energy is a subsidiary of the EDF Group, one of Europe's largest energy companies.
