BMC to Acquire ProactiveNet

Enterprise management software developer BMC Software revealed Tuesday that it has agreed to acquire privately held ProactiveNet, a developer of "early warning" IT software. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. BMC said the addition of ProactiveNet will enable the company to deliver software that aligns IT services with business priorities. Headquartered in Houston, BMC Software reported gross revenues of $1.57 billion for the 2006 fiscal year.
