BMC Signs Sony

Houston-based BMC Software, a publisher of information technology applications, reported Wednesday that its technology has assisted a major Hollywood studio in consolidating its service desk operations. The financial impact of the customer win was not disclosed. According to BMC, Sony Pictures Entertainment is deploying BMC's Remedy IT Service Management package for its service desk operations. BMC explained that the consolidation was necessary in order for Sony Pictures to meet growing demands for business support. Sony Pictures' global operations comprise motion picture, television, home video, studio, entertainment technology and film distribution.
