Blue Star Sports Raises Funding From Cowboy's Jerry Jones, Providence Equity

Dallas-based Blue Star Sports, a new startup developing youth sports software, said Monday that it has raised funding from Dallas Cowboys' owner, president and general manager Jerry Jones, along with Providence Equity Partners. Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed. According to Blue Star Sports, it is developing a "complete solution" for the youth sports market, including handling registration and payments for sports leagues, a web and app builder, back office and communications tools, and more. The new startup was founded by Rob Wechsler, who most recently was the founder of Century Payments, which he sold to Bain Capital and Worldpay in 2013. More information »
