Big In Japan Acquires Snappr

Dallas-based Big In Japan, the mobile application developer headed by Alexander Muse, has acquired barcode scanning application Snappr. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. According to Big In Japan, the firm has been incorporating Snappr's technology into its own, mobile barcode scanning app, ShopSavvy. The firm said that Snappr's CEO and Founder, Philip Stehlik, will join the firm's board of advisors. Big In Japan said the acquisition would specifically help the firm support QR (Quick Response) codes, 2D barcodes which help connect consumers with websites via a billboard or magazine advertisement.
