Bandspeed Partners With Broadcom

Austin-based Bandspeed, the developer of wireless access points and RF analysis software, reported that it has partnered with chip maker Broadcom, on an enterprise WLAN management app. Bandspeed, which is backed by JatoTech Ventures and Alara Captal (previously Guggenheim Venture Partners), said the deal will include Bandspeed's AirMaestro RF spectrum analysis technology in a Broadcom wireless switching software product. Bandspeed said the inclusion of its product will help users identify, classify, locate and mitigate sources of RF interference adversely affecting the wireless network. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed; AirMaestro's software now runs on a Broadcom WLAN access points using Broadcom's 802.11n and 802.11ac chipsets. The two said the products will be available in early next quarter.
