Austin Technology Partnership Aims To Brand Tech Industry

A new effort from the City of Austin, and the Austin Technology Council aims to brand Austin as a "city that gets tech", the two said today--backed by a fair amount of city funding. According to the two, they have created the Austin Technology Partnership (ATP), which will work together with the city's leadership, regional stakeholders, and the technology industry to advance the regional tech economy. The two said that the ATP will focus on data collection, analysis, and reporting, to "establish a shared understanding of the economic landscape" here in Austin. According to the two the effort is being supported by a combined $775,000 in investment, including 62 percent from the private sector and 38 percent of the budget from the public sector.
