ATC Panel On Silicon Valley vs. Austin Touches Nerve

A panel at the Austin Technology Council's CEO Summit appears to have touched a nerve, after panel about how a group of former Austin entrepreneurs moved their companies to Silicon Valley, instead of spurring thought and debate, ended as a depressing promotion of moving to Silicon Valley. In an impassioned defense of Austin's technology scene, OtherInBox CEO and Capital Factory director Joshua Baer posted a defense this morning on on the reasons for locating in the region in I Choose Austin, admitting while things may look better from a startup's point of view in Silicon Valley, there's an opportunity to help shape the community, and be part of building something new in Austin.
