AT&T Invests $1M To Promote Science, Engineering To Girl Scouts

In a move to boost the ranks of women in science and engineering, Dallas-based AT&T announced this morning that it has contributed $1M to an effort by the Girl Scouts of the USA, to boost interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) to undeserved high school girls. AT&T and the girl Scouts said they are launching IMAGINE: Your STEM Future, an initiative to introduce young women to careers in science, technology, engineering, and math. The contribution is among the largest ever made to the Girl Scouts of the USA for science education. The funds will go towards providing activities for high school girls to team up with At&T employees and other volunteers to participate in science related experiments and activities. Two of the Girl Scout Councils are in Texas; the Dallas and San Antonio area councils are two of the 18 Girl Scout Councils involved in the effort.
