AlterPoint Revs Software

Austin-based Alterpoint, a provider of network management software, said today that it has upgraded its NetworkAuthority Lifecycle product. AlterPoint said its upgraded NetworkAuthority LifeCycle 6.5 enables its customers to analyze and manage their complex networks with a much finer granularity and precision. Among the upgrades to the software are automated classification of devices, which enables IT administrators to manage devices based on geography, business unit, or other parameters. AlterPoint is venture backed by Austin Ventures, JK&B Capital, and Palomar Ventures.
