Alafair Biosciences Raises $702K

Austin-based Alafair Biosciences, a developer of polysaccharide hydrogel films to address post-surgical complications due to adhesion of tissue surfaces, has raised $702,000 as part of an ongoing, $1.5M funding round, according to a regulatory filing by the firm today. Details on the funding have not yet been announced by the company. Alafair is led by Daniel L. Peterson, M.D., who is a neurosurgeon in Austin; he helped co-found MedDataSolutions, and is a Clinical Adjunct Professorship in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Texas. More information »
