AirStrip Gains Patent

San Antonio-based mobile healthcare applications developer Airstrip Technologies said it has received a U.S. patent, which it says covers the foundation of its mobile patient monitoring technology. The firm said the patent was issued on August 28th. The firm did not detail the patent, but said it will use the patent to "defend its intellectual property" and encourage partnerships with others. A search of the U.S. Patent and Trademark office shows that the patent was number 8,255,238, and names William Cameron Powell and Trey Moore as inventors; Powell is the firm's President and Chief Medical Officer. The patent was filed in 2005, according to the USPTO, with Fish & Richardson P.C. representing AirStrip in the filing.
