Active Power Wins UT Austin

Austin-based Active Power, a developer of flywheel-based backup power systems, reported today that the University of Texas at Austin is using its technology as part of a green data center. Active Power said its UPS systems are being deployed as part of UT Austin's new $32M university data center. Financial terms of the win were not disclosed. Active Power said that four of its CleanSource 900 kVA UPS systems are providing backup power to the facility.
