ACS to Upgrade Dubai's Public Transport for $21M

Dallas, Texas-based Affiliated Computer Services Inc., a provider of business-process outsourcing services, announced Monday that it will install a contactless ticketing system for the public buses and waterbuses of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. ACS said the two contracts, which were awarded by Dubai infrastructure developer Energy International, are worth an estimated $21 million combined. ACS explained that the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority’s Public Transport Agency and Marine Agency will equip their public buses and waterbus piers with ACS’ ARCOS fare-collection system, which will replace the city’s current paper-based ticketing system.
