ACS Awarded $25M Contract by Canadian City
Dallas-based business process outsourcing and IT consulting firm Affiliated Computer Services Inc. revealed Tuesday that it has won a five-year contract worth $25 million to operate an intersection safety camera program for the Canadian city of Winnipeg. ACS noted that the contract was awarded through a competitive bidding process and includes options for more work in the future. ACS said it has managed Winnipeg’s public safety traffic program since its inception in 2003. The cameras, ACS explained, were installed to reduce incidents of speeding at intersections and the running of red lights. ACS added that, during the past 18 months, it has received five contract renewals and landed five competitive bids in Canada in addition to the Winnipeg win.
