Zimbra Moves To New Open Source License

Frisco, Texas-based collaboration software developer Zimbra is moving its source code to the Open Source Initiative (OSI), the company said yesterday, saying that it believes by moving to OSI-approved licenses, it will gain more contributions from the open source community. Zimbra said its Zimbra Collaboration server will be licensed under GNU Public License version 2, and its Zimbra Collaboration web application under Common Public Attribution License (CPAL) version 1. Zimbra had previously released its source code to open source under its own, open source license, the Zimbra Public License. Zimbra's software is used for collaboration and social networking by enterprises.
