Whole Foods Rolls Out Apple Pay

Austin-based grocery chain Whole Foods Market is one of the first retailers to jump on Apple Computer's new electronic payment service, Apple Pay, saying this morning that it has rolled out support for the new mobile payment product at all of its stores. Whole Foods said that all 381 of its U.S. stores are now accepting Apple Pay, which uses Near Field Communications (NFC) to transmit payment information to retailers. Apple announced Apple Pay last week, a new feature of its iPhone which lets users add credit and debit card information to their iPhone, but pay using Apple's own encrypted, one-time code based payment system.
