VC Investments Drop in 2009

Venture capital investments dropped to their lowest levels in a decade, according to a report released Friday by PricewaterhouseCoopers and the National Venture Capital Association. According to the report, which used data from Thompson Reuters, nationwide venture investment totaled $17.7 billion in 2,795 deals in 2009, the lowest level of investments since 1997. the firm said the investment level was down 37 percent in terms of dollars, and 30 percent in deal volume from 2008.
