UT Austin Gains Funding For Cybersecurity Effort

The University of Texas at Austin has scored funding for its cybersecurity efforts, from defense firm Raytheon, Raytheon said Wednesday. According to Raytheon, it will help to provide funding for the next 10 years to UT Austin's Center for Information Assurance and Security (CIAS). According to Raytheon, it will tap into UT Austin's "best and brightest minds" to help develop technologies for business and government customers. Amount of funding to the school was not disclosed by Raytheon, which said that there are 21 faculty members in UT Austin's CIAS, which is part of its Department of Computer Science.
