TreeHouse Gets $16M For Sustainable Home Improvement Company

Austin-based TreeHouse, a retailer of sustainable energy, solar, and other home improvement products, has raised $16M in a funding round, the company said last week. The retailer, led by The Container Store co-founder Garrett Boone, said the funds will go towards store openings in new markets, technology development, an e-commerce launch, plus a new product incubator. TreeHouse's products and services specifically aimed at sustainable homes--and include such things as the Nest thermostat, Tesla's new battery banks, and more.
