TippingPoint Rolls New Security Service

Austin-based TippingPoint, a provider of intrusion prevention tools, said Monday that it has rolled out a new set of services aimed at reducing security risks from custom-build Web applications. According to the firm, the new Web Application Digital Vaccine (Web App DV) service scans web applications for vulnerabilities and PCI compliance standards. Pricing on the new service was not disclosed. TippingPoint said its new service will be available in May. The firm is targeting companies who need to certify their web applications to credit card and other security requirements, such as PCI. TippingPoint is a division of 3Com.
