Texas Venture Investments Jump In Q1 To $591.97M

Investments in Texas startups jumped in Q1, according to the latest MoneyTree Report by PricewaterhouseCoopers and the National Venture Capital Association, based on data from Thomson Reuters. According to the MoneyTree report, there was $591.97M invested across 48 deals, a surge from Q4's $189.0M invested in the state. The investments for the quarter also were also significantly bigger than the $423.5M reported in Q1 of 2015. The Texas market saw a bigger increase in venture investments than the U.S. as a whole, where investments were flat, at $12.1 billion investment, compared with fourth quarter, when $12.0M was invested nationally.
