Texas Instruments Launches STEM Teaching Tool

Dallas-based Texas Instruments has launched a new set of tools aimed at teaching science and technology to students, all tied to the company's popular TI-84 Plus CE graphing calculators and Ti-Nspire CX products. According to TI, its new TI-Innovator Hub is a classroom tool which combines a microcontroller, a breakboard, LED modules, light sensors, and other accessories aimed at helping students learn coding and engineering skills. The company said the tool starts, for example, by taking students how to write a program to play a single note, and then play sounds at different frequencies to play a song. Pricing on the product were not announced. The new product appears similar to technology used in the popular Arduino and Raspberry Pi embedded computers.
