TI Sells DSL CPE Business to Germany’s Infineon

Electronics manufacturer Texas Instruments has shopped its DSL Customer Premises Equipment business to German semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies AG, Infineon revealed Monday. Terms of the deal, which is expected to close later this summer, were not reported. Customer-premises equipment consists of the materials located inside the subscriber;s residence. This includes DSL modems, telephone cords, network hubs, filters and related equipment. Infineon Technologies is based in Neubiberg, Germany. The company employs some 42,000 people worldwide and reported gross sales of 7.9 billion Euros for the 2006 fiscal year. Texas Instruments is headquartered in Dallas, Texas.
