TAOS Promotes "Green" HDTVs

Plano-based Texas Advanced Optoelectronic Solutions is targeting the HDTV industry, saying today that it is providing key technology for ambient light sensing on flat panel TVs. The firm said its products are being used to both improve display picture quality and reduce power consumption of flat panel TVs. TAOS said it is working with industry group the LCD TV association to promote "green technology" and energy conservation--through implementing sensors like those from TAOS--as a "Green TV" logo program for TV manufacturers.
