Sun Buys Neogent

Sun Microsystems has purchased Austin, Texas-based Neogent, the firm said Thursday. Neogent develops identity management automation software. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Sun said the acquisition will allow it to better address compliance requirements for regulatory, security and privacy issues such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, the Health Insurance Portability and Affordability Act (HIPPA), Homeland Security Presidential Directive-12 and the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act.
