StackEngine Raises $1M

Austin-based StackEngine, a developer of software for managing applications built on the open source, Docker software, has raised $1M in a seed funding round, and launched its product. The company said the funding came from Silverton Partners and LiveOak Venture Partners. StackEngine was founded by Bob Quillin and Eric Anderson, who previously served at CopperEgg, Hyper9 and VMware. The company's software helps to manage and automate Docker, which is an open source platform which helps system administrators and developers to create and ship distributed applications--called "containerization".
