SolarBridge Appoints Marketing Head

Austin-based SolarBridge Technologies, which is developing microinverters for the solar power market, said this week that it has named Craig Lawrence as its new Vice President of Marketing. Lawrence joins the company from SunEdison, where he had served as vice president of products and general manager of SunEdison's Residential and Light Commercial Business Unit. Lawrence also has served at IDEO and at venture investor Accel Partners. SolarBridge develops micro-inverters, which are designed to attach to photovoltaic panels, converting their DC power to AC directly at the panel, as opposed to traditional designs, which requires long DC power wiring runs to a larger inverter. The firm's "microinverter" are more efficient than traditional inverters, and the firm says are easier to install. SolarBridge is venture backed by Rho Ventures and Battery Ventures.
