SoftLayer Extends API

Dallas-based SoftLayer said Monday that the firm has extended its application programming interface (API) support for developers to the firm's cloud computing offering, CloudLayer Computing and CloudLayer Storage services. The firm said the new API, available as a SOAP, XML-RPC, and REST with JSON/ XML output interface, will allow developers to provision, manage, monitor, and pull information from its systems. SoftLayer is hoping that third party developers will integrate their software with the firm's cloud services.
