Six Flags Debuts Virtual Reality Roller Coaster Experience

Grand Prairie, Texas-based theme park operator Six Flags Entertainment said today, along with Samsung Electronics, that they have launched a series of experiences at nine of the Six Flags parks, which will offer up Virtual Reality Roller Coasters--which will deploy VR headsets on its roller coasters. The new experiences will use Samsung Gear VR headsets, powered by Oculus, to offer up virtual reality experiences cued in by the actual twists and turns of a coaster ride. The VR headsets will debut initially at the Shock Wave at Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington, the Dare Devil Dive at Six Flags over Georgia, The New Revolution at Six Flags Magic Mountain near Los Angeles, Ninja at Six Flags St. Louis, the Steamin' Demon in New York, and Goliath at La Ronde in Montreal. Six Flags said the virtual reality experience will transport riders to a "futuristic battle to save planet Earth from an alien invasion."
