Silicon Labs Rolls Out Wireless Chips

Austin-based Silicon Laboratories announced today that it has rolled out a low-power, processing unit targeted at the wireless industry. According to Silicon Lab, the firm's new EZRadioPRO family is focused on wireless applications such as remote meter reading, home security, remote keyless entry, and building automation. The firm said the new system will allow those systems to use a single cell batter for power, reducing both cost and size of hardware required. Silicon Laboratories is a developer of analog-intensive, mixed-signal ICs.
