ShopSavvy Bolsters Infrastructure

Dallas-based ShopSavvy, the developer of the popular iPhone and Android barcode scanning applications, reported Wednesday that it has bolstered its back end data center connections. The firm said it now has more than 7.5 million people using its services, which has spurred it to add redundant connections to its data center. The firm said it has increased its IP bandwidth and added two IP connections and fiber into its data center, across different physical and logical routes. The firm did not say what bandwidth provider it is using for the connections. ShopSavvy's app allow people to scan barcodes on products and get pricing comparisons from Internet and local retailers. The firm is run by Alexander Muse.
