Set.fm Finds $1.2M For Music App

Austin-based Set.fm, a developer of an app to help musicians to capture, promote, and sell recordings of their live performances, said yesterday that it has raised $1.2M in seed funding. The funding came from Golden Venture Partners, a Toronto-based venture capital company. Set.fm, which is led by Matt Peterson, develops tools to help bands and other musicians capture and sell recordings of their concerts. The company said its tools also help artists figure out the best recording setup for their music and venue, tips on how to promote the recording, and provides marketing material for the artists.
