SEMATECH Names Directors

SEMATECH Inc. reported Tuesday that it has appointed Dr. Bryan J. Rice as director of its lithography division and Dr. Stefan Wurm as associate director of the same unit. The Austin, Texas-based consortium said Rice, who most recently served as the immersion program manager, replaces Michael Lercel, who returned to IBM upon completion of his SEMATECH assignment. Rice, SEMATECH noted, has been on assignment from Intel Corp. since 2006. Wurm previously served as SEMATECH’s extreme ultraviolet program manager. He is on assignment from Advanced Micro Devices, which he recently joined as principal member of technical staff. Established in 1987, SEMATECH is a non-profit organization that performs research into semiconductor manufacturing methods.
