S3 Ventures Raises $75M For Technology, Medical Startups
Austin-based venture investor S3 Ventures is announcing today that it has raised a new, $75M fund for investments in technology and medical device firms, according to a report today. The firm, which is managed by Brian R. Smith, said it will make 12 to 15 investments from its new fund. S3 currently has $170M under management, and has invested in such companies as LibreDigital (acquired by RR Donnelly), Phurnace Software (acquired by BMC Software), Spiera (Acquired by Avaya), and StoredIQ (acquired by IBM).
